Dear Friends,

I write again to confirm we will not be holding Sunday morning worship this Sunday 22nd November.

The news of the lockdown restrictions being lifted early is very welcome, but as I hope you can appreciate it has been a busy and stressful week quickly adapting to the approaching lockdown, cancelling events, cancelling preparations for Sunday and preparing alternative approaches. With the lockdown not ending until midnight Saturday there is no time to access the church to prepare things for worship. I Have consulted the clergy and wardens of the parish and the general consensus is to stay shut this Sunday.

Whilst some parishes in the dioceses may choose to re-open for worship I note that the Cathedral will not open, nor will St Bede’s Semaphore so I think our decision is reasonable.

If you are able please join me for a more substantial Facebook worship to be posted 8am Sunday morning. If you cannot access the Facebook worship, please find time on Sunday to pray for our world and our parish, and especially for all those who are struggling at this time. You might like to use the readings and prayers that were in the pew sheet emailed out on Wednesday to remind us that Christ is reigning over us and our world.

So to confirm all Sunday services 7:45 & 10am at St Peters, 8:45 at St Martins and 5pm Ukulele Church are all cancelled this Sunday 22nd November.

Grace and Peace to you all

We intend to open the Parish office on Wednesday 25th November 9.30am-2.30pm as per normal

Reverend Andrew Mintern

Re-opening 25 November 2020
