St Peter’s
St Peter’s Church is located on Torrens Square which sits at the intersection of Augusta Street and Nile Street. The entrance for Worship is via southern doors of the porch at the Western end of the church. For weekday access and Community Centre events please enter through the metal gate opposite the Coles carpark.
Access
Access to the parish buildings is generally good. The main entry to St Peter’s church is wide and relatively flat (about a 2cm step which is made easier by having a doormat in place). The weekday entrance to the parish office is completely flat. The community centre and toilets can be accessed from the main body of the church via a ramp. Two of the toilets are wheelchair accessible and one has a baby change table.
Parking
Parking at St Peter’s can be a challenge, especially in the warmer months when people flock to the seaside. Attenders need to pay close attention to the marked parking times as the Council inspectors are very vigilant. We suggest you find at least a 2 hour park, and preferably a 3 hour park, if you are attending worship. Please be advised that if you park in the Coles carpark this is for Coles patrons and is also monitored by Council parking inspectors. The church has a very limited number of onsite parks which we keep for those who are infirm. You can drive onto the square at the Western end for the purposes of dropping someone off and then drive across the square to rejoin Augusta Street.
St Martin’s
St Martin’s is located at 45 Hasting Street, Glenelg South, immediately to the West (rear) of the Glenelg South Foodland and shops.
Access
The entry to St Martin’s church does have a small step from the foyer to the church, however parishioners can enter the annex door via a ramp and enter the side of the church without having to go up a step. There are steps to the altar rail to receive communion however the priest is happy to bring communion down to parishioners who cannot manage the steps. We do not have wheelchair accessible toilets at St Martin’s.
Parking
At St Martin’s there is usually sufficient street parking in the immediately vicinity of Hastings Street and Bath Street. There is no onsite carparking at St Martin’s.
